My girl who is in P3 this year is getting more and more busy !
Her homework is getting more and more. Then now, on every Tuesday, she has CCA.
Just when I thought my girl only needed to stay back in school for 1 day,
Just when I thought the logistic had been resolved,
Just when I thought her science & chinese tuition had been re-schedule to Wednesday so that she would not miss,
another letter came along !
All P3 is encouraged to learn Malay on Wednesday. No wonder there is no CCA on every wednesday!
Since it's not compulsory, I wrote a letter stating that she will not be attending. As Science is a new subject, I would not want her to miss tuition. Also the chinese teacher was so kind to re-schedule.
Then not again !!
Another letter came !!
This time is Chinese Supplementary Lesson and it falls on every thursday!
I spoke to the tuition centre in-charge and we really had headache re-scheduling the thursday tuition now !
Monday - centre close
Tuesday - most kids have CCA
Wednesday - Science tuition at 3pm, Chinese tuition at 4-6pm
Thursday - Maths & English 3-5pm
Friday - All students are required to stay back in school until 3.30pm
Saturday & Sunday - the volunteers will like to have family time
Like the Malay programme, I wrote a letter to the Chinese Teacher. He called me up and said that it is NOT a remedial lesson. It's a supplementary lesson and all is required to attend as the students will still be taught some syllabus.
Really an issue now !
After discussing with hubby, he emailed to Chinese teacher again, and now we are waiting for her Chinese teacher to reply whether it's really really a must-go. If it is, then I will forgo her thursday tuition. Really don't wish to stress her so much. Also don't wish to make things difficult for the volunteers since they must have arranged their timing beforehand.
How I can help her is to teach more (for English & Maths) if time permits on weekends (pile of school homework).
Really, times have change. She is more busy than when I was in Primary 3 !

2 Lovely Comments:
yah nowadays schools have supplementary classes for p3 and above..busy busy. busy students, busy teachers. I think you shd opt for supplementary and not tuition, cause sometimes, or most of the times, the teachers will use supp class to teach. you will not want your girl to miss her chinese lessons.
yes, if it really really is a must-attend, then we will let her attend and forgo the tuition, so that she will not miss out any syllabus
