Update On His Behavourial #3

It's coming to the end of Term 1.

From the last update on his behavourial #2, it was about a month ago. Now my boy is more aware that he has to finish his school work before playtime or watch his favourite cartoon. So whenever I give him worksheets to do, he will not reject. Phew. It's quite easy for me to teach 汉语拼音 now.

Now he can focus on worksheet for 30 - 45 mins, with occasion standing up. An improvement there is !

The super telescope is still working. Hehe. Secret has not been revealed yet. Everytime he returns home, he will ask me what I can see from the telescope. Most of the time, I repeat the same thing like, his love for water cooler, he being the time-keeper etc.

And it is through this "telescope" that I come to know a few new events.

Boy: "mummy, what did you see from the telescope today?"

Me: "I saw you keeping track of the time because you are the time-keeper."

Boy: "I am not the time-keeper now. I am the group leader."

Me: "Wah! This is a great improvement you know! So what do you do as a group leader?"

Boy: "I collect homework and pass to teacher. But I want to be the monitor leh."

Me: "You must work harder to behave then one day teacher may choose you as the monitor, ok?"

Boy: "Ok. Some more? What do you see in me do in school?"

Me: "I saw you behaving in classroom today" (trying to say positive attitude to motivate him to behave better)

Boy: "Ya ... but teacher taped a square on the floor and I need to sit inside. Teacher said I cannot go out of the box. Joel also sit inside a box."

Me: "why must you sit inside?"

Boy: "because I cannot sit still on the floor, I keep moving in front and backwards. So I  must sit inside the box."

Me: "do you feel sad?" (wanting to check if this action bring his confidence level down)

Boy: "no. When I can stop moving around, then teacher will take away the box. Then will left Joel only"

Me: "ok, so I hope the day will come very soon. Must let me know ok!" 

You know, I can never stop worrying about my kids. I am sure most mothers feel this way too. I just hope his behaviour will keep improving day by day. I recalled when he just started P1, I kept worrying few things.

- dont know how to unhook/hook his shorts when passing urine and worry he may control his bladder instead

- dont know how to buy food as he still unsure of dollars/cents and worry he may decide to go hungry

- cannot remember to bring wallet for recess to buy food and worry he may go hungry

But the above worries are unfounded. He just managed it.

Only one worry left.

That is, he controls his tummy pain and returns home for poo. I had taught him to use toilet paper but he prefers to use water. Hence he will try to control tummy ache. Hope the tummy ache only happen once in a blue moon.

I feel that he is getting more mature. Yesterday I taught him how to use coin phone to call me from school. Just now, he did it. Sweetness in my heart now~ :)
